Monterey is located on Central California’s pacific coast and was the hub of the major canning industry famously chronicled in John Steinbeck’s book, “Cannery Row”. Today, the Central Coast is known for its agriculture and thriving tourist industry due to the region’s mild climate and picturesque coastline. Home to the world famous Monterey Aquarium, Monterey is also the site of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Monterey is commonly known as California’s first city and is the birthplace of California’s Constitution.
