San Diego

The San Diego Region

San Diego is the eighth-largest city in the United States and second-largest city in California, with a population of 1.3 million people. The city is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Southern California, immediately adjacent to the Mexican border. The birthplace of California, San Diego is known for its mild year-round climate, natural deep-water harbor, extensive beaches, long association with the U.S. military, and emergence as one of the largest healthcare and biotechnology development clusters in the nation.

There are 18 cities, which along with the County of San Diego, cover the entire geographic area. San Diego’s main economic engines are military and defense-related activities, tourism, technology, international trade, and manufacturing.

Principals in the San Diego Office focus on strategic communications, government relations, land use entitlement and planning, and business development and contracting. The office has a diverse client base, including the technology, healthcare and housing sectors, commercial development, association management, planning and engineering consulting, and local government services and contracting, among many others.
