Lauren Wesche has more than a decade of legislative, association, and public relations experience. She has worked on a range of issues in various roles, from association advocacy to agency-side communications and marketing, working for organizations and initiatives like Planned Parenthood and Covered California.
Before joining the firm, Lauren served as Advocacy Manager for the California Hospital Association, where she was instrumental in advancing public perception of California’s 430+ hospitals and health systems. On behalf of the association, she has advocated in the areas of health equity, Medi-Cal, behavioral health, workforce, emergency preparedness, telehealth, and price transparency. At the California Hospital Association Lauren built coalitions, organized lobby days, provided legislative issue briefs, and supported ballot initiatives.
Earlier in her career, Lauren worked for Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, supporting a wide variety of state initiatives from California High-Speed Rail Authority to Energy Upgrade California. An asset to many teams, Lauren helped launch the Softwood Lumber Board and Covered California, supported the Mexico Tourism Board, and worked on an array of water policy issues for the Department of Water Resources and tribal water rights in the Coachella Valley. While at Ogilvy, she was part of an international team providing 24-hour crisis communications for BP America during and after the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Lauren attended California State University, Sacramento where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.
