Constance Joves, an associate with California Strategies, assists the firm in a variety of issue areas, such as environmental policy, energy, water, Tribal affairs, and technology. Since joining the firm, she regularly helps clients navigate procedures in the California Public Utilities Commission.

Constance graduated in June 2023 from the University of California, Davis with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Communications. Throughout her undergrad, she developed knowledge of the public sector as an intern for the Office of Congressman Garamendi and as an intern with the Kermit Jones for Congress campaign.

Constance also has extensive knowledge of research methodologies and international aid. As a research assistant in the Political Violence Lab, a team based in Washington, D.C., Constance explored the downstream effects of media coverage on humanitarian aid and effectiveness. She engaged with key members of international and non-governmental organizations, government officials, and honed her skills in survey methodologies and coding abilities in data analysis. Her insights were shared with top editorial staff from major news networks, leading to an improved research methodology guided by industry expert feedback.

Following her graduation, she interned at Dewey Square Group (DSG), a firm specializing in Public Affairs and Advocacy. During her tenure, she developed content and contributed to a wide range of strategic communication campaigns at state, regional, and local levels. While at DSG, Constance refined her expertise in legislative analysis across the California, Nevada, and Federal landscapes. She excelled in creating compelling campaign messages and quotations, contributing to an increase in coalition member’s visibility and impact on initiatives.

Prior to attending UC Davis, she grew up in the Bay Area and studied piano at the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts.
